Position: Tutor (Part-Time)
Salary: $45 per hour, 6 hours a week, 36 weeks per year

Job Summary:
The Tutor will provide academic support to participants, implement program curriculum, and assist with learning goals. This role involves monitoring and tracking the academic progress of mentees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Support:

    • Provide individualized tutoring sessions to participants based on their academic needs.

    • Assist mentees in understanding and completing assignments, preparing for tests, and improving study skills.

    • Adapt tutoring techniques and strategies to accommodate different learning styles.

  • Curriculum Implementation:

    • Implement program curriculum effectively to support mentees' academic development.

    • Collaborate with program coordinators and mentors to align tutoring sessions with program goals and learning objectives.

  • Progress Monitoring:

    • Monitor and track the academic progress of mentees over time.

    • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, academic achievements, and areas needing improvement.

    • Communicate regularly with mentors and program coordinators regarding mentees' progress and challenges.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or a related field required.

    • Teaching certification or enrollment in a teaching program preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with youth or young adults.

    • Experience in developing and implementing educational plans and activities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Available from 2 PM to 5 PM one day per week (day to be determined based on site placement).

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in the subject areas being tutored (e.g., Mathematics, English, Science).

  • Ability to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience and empathy in working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire mentees to achieve academic success.
