Position Overview:
We’re seeking compassionate and dedicated Hybrid Academic Mentors to support elementary, middle, and high school girls both in-person and virtually. Mentors play a vital role in helping mentees strengthen academic confidence, build positive habits, and navigate school challenges while reinforcing our core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group academic support in core subjects (English, math, science, social studies, etc.).

• Assist with homework, projects, and test preparation.

• Help students develop organization, study, and time management skills.

• Encourage a growth mindset and positive self-esteem around learning.

• Communicate regularly with the program team about student progress and needs.

• Participate in mentor check-ins, trainings, and community events present by WE ARE R.I.S.E. Inc.

• Model professionalism, empathy, and respect at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring, mentoring, or teaching youth (preferred). Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with youth or in an academic support setting

• Strong academic knowledge in one or more core subjects.

• Excellent communication and listening skills.

• Reliable internet and a quiet, distraction-free environment for virtual sessions.

• Passion for education, mentorship, and youth empowerment.

• Bachelor’s degree, or a degree in education.
