In 2017 Founder of We Are R.I.S.E. , Ebone Smith , discovered a need in the community she was serving and with the support of parents and administration began facilitating an after school program for girls of color. Proving to be a staple in the community, We Are R.I.S.E Inc continued to provide services to mentees through out the pandemic and officially became incorporated as a nonprofit April 20, 2020. As time progressed our mentees relocated but our vision to provide girls of color the necessary tools and skills to reach their greatest potential stayed consistent. Currently, our nonprofit serves a Hybrid Cohort of 30 mentees across different schools Los Angeles County.
